Barkley’s 5th grade enjoyed a special time as Barkley’s World Language teacher, Mrs. Dougherty, introduced her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bradney.  They shared about living 36 years in Latin America.  Mrs. Bradney played Christmas carols and traditional Paraguayan music on her harp.  Mr. and Mrs. Bradney answered questions prepared by 5th grade students about life in Costa Rica and Paraguay.  Students sat in amazement as they listened to stories about snakes, iguanas, oxcarts, great food and the customs of Latin America.  Each student also received a taste of flan, a special custard enjoyed by many in Costa Rica.
