To Mrs. Jen Foresta for organizing the 36 PAHS students who were here to run our Field Day events. Their hard work in making sure each event ran smoothly and their encouragement of our students made it a success for all of us!
To Mrs. April Skomsky for organizing the trip to the Reading Phillies game for our East Pikeland families.
· To Dr. Troy Czukoski, and the entire Middle School staff for inviting our fifth grade students for an orientation to life in the middle school. The tour and information provided will be helpful as our students make the transition to PAMS.
· To everyone who helped plan and coordinate the activities to recognize our students on Student Appreciation Day. We are proud of the hard work and cooperation of our students and appreciate everyone who helps us celebrate them on their special day. Special thanks to the Home and School for making it possible for us to give our students a gift to remember the day. Thank you to the staff for the entertainment and activities for our students. Thank you to the Chartwell’s staff for a great barbecue, the East Pikeland Township Police for the water ice, and to Mr. Robert Gable, our DJ for the end of the day music!
· To Mr. Bill Bonnell and the Middle School Jazz Band for the very impressive and enjoyable concert that our students and staff look forward to every year.
· To our 2008-2009 Home and School Officers, Mrs. Sally Peters-Gaffney, President, Mrs. Karla Maguire, Vice-President, Mrs. Sheryl Light, Secretary, and Mrs. Debbie Bagley, Treasurer, for their hard work and their support of all of our special programs and activities throughout the year. Thank you to the chairpersons of all of our special events who provided opportunities for our students and families to enjoy time together. Thank you to the many volunteers who supported our special activities here at school and the many Home and School events.
CONGRATULATIONS
· To the students in grades one through five whose art work represented East Pikeland at the annual district Art Show this spring held at Phoenixville Area High School
· To Carly Bonner, Grade 5, who won third place in this year’s Kiwanis Patriotic Day Celebration.
· To Mrs. Lash for another outstanding field day. The creative circuit events were enjoyed by our students and gave them an opportunity to show some skills as well as the sportsmanship they had learned in their physical education classes this year.
· To the Purple team, the winners in this year’s Field Day events. To all of our students who once again proved that they are MVPs on our East Pikeland Team.
· To our entire East Pikeland School Community – teachers, staff, parents, and students for their hard work during the 2008-2009 school year. We are proud of our team work that helped our students be ‘MVPs’.
· To the many students in grades one through five who participated in and met our reading challenges: The Philadelphia 76ers Book Break Challenge and our East Pikeland Challenge, Get Fired Up for Reading! We are always proud of the many students who participate in these challenges and show us how much they enjoy reading.
· To the fourth and fifth grade students who received letters of recognition for their outstanding academic achievement during the fourth marking period.
· To the fourth and fifth grade students who were recognized for their outstanding accomplishments during the 2008-2009 school year at our Awards Assemblies in June. Congratulations to 5th Grade students, Jamie Deni and Olivia McGinnis, winners of the US Congressman Jim Gerlach Good Citizenship Award, Gabby Plotts and Matt Tomko winners of the Principal’s award for Outstanding Academics, Citizenship, and Effort. Congratulations to 4th Grade student, Alaina DeLeone, winner of the Rick Lucas Memorial Award for Outstanding Citizenship, and to, Emily Holmberg, winner of the Tristan Webster Memorial Award for Perseverance and Tenacity in meeting the challenges of each day (Check the District Web Page for additional award winners). We are proud of all that our students accomplished to earn these awards.
· To Mrs. Tomko, Yearbook Coordinator, and the parent volunteers who worked all year on the yearbook. Their hard work resulted in a yearbook that is unlike any that we have ever had. Thank you to Mrs. Tomko who has found a way to make each year’s yearbook better than the year before. Her expertise will be missed.
· To our fifth grade students and their parents who have completed their five years of elementary school here at East Pikeland. We have appreciated your efforts, and enjoyed working with you. Good Luck as you continue your journey through education and life! You will be missed!
