Biography Tea Party
Students at Schuylkill Elementary assumed the roles of their favorite historical figures for a Biography Tea Party held for friends and family in the school’s cafeteria.
Each student selected a person who made a difference in the world through perseverance and hard work. Among those selected were Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Babe Ruth, Cleopatra, Queen Victoria and Leonardo da Vinci.
The students gave a brief overview of their selected person, after which friends and family asked a series of questions:
What important lessons could be learned from this person’s life?
Would you consider this person a role model for the way you want to live your life? Why?
Perseverance is described as believing in one’s goals and not giving up. In what ways did this person show perseverance?
Did this person influence history? In what way?
Was it the willingness to work hard or a natural talent that made the difference for this person? How do you know?
What were the secrets to success for this person?
What is a character trait that would best describe your person? Can you explain your reasons for your choice?
