The Phoenixville Community Education Foundation (PCEF) is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, charitable organization. PCEF was founded by the Superintendent of Schools of the Phoenixville Area School District in 2002. In 2006, the Department of Community & Economic Development named PCEF as an Education Improvement organization for its contributions to "innovative educational programming" within a public school system. Through partnerships with the Phoenixville community, the Phoenixville Community Health Foundation, as well as area businesses, churches and other organizations, PCEF has successfully delivered on our promise: to help sponsor those educational programs and classrooms initiatives that could not be covered by the school district's budget. Some of the many initiatives supported by PCEF include: Pack-A-Backpack for children with financial needs; the Youth Philanthropy Program; the 4th & 5th Grade Truancy Program; Middle School Mentoring Programs; PAMS Summer Enrichment Program; Scholarships to Graduating Seniors; the Classroom Mini-Grant Program; and Channel 27 Phantom TV.
