Trish McGarry was recently surprised as the Citadel Heart of Learning Finalist. Only 15 finialists are picked out of the thousands of nominations written by students, parents and school administrators.
Representatives presented Trish with a custom glass sculpture from Simon Pearce and a cash award. On hand to congratulate Trish was Dr. Noyes, Superintendent of School, Dr. Schwab, Assistant Superintendent, the entire Barkely Faculty as well as her husband Mike.
This award program, now in its seventh year, was created in a joint effort by Citadel and the Chester County Intermediate Unit to recognize and honor excellent teachers throughout the county. One award is presented to a teacher in each of the 13 school districts as well as one from the Chester County Intermediate Unit and one from the non-public schools.
Three overall winners will be announced at a banquet on May 6th at The Desmond Hotel - one each for an elementary school, middle school and high school teacher.
