On Wednesday, May 7, Phoenixville Community Education Foundation (PCEF) secured $14,500 from Exelon Generation Foundation to help fund SAFE Summer Academics at Barkley Elementary School.
William M. Swahl, General Manager of Cromby Generating Station in Phoenixville, presented the award to Dr. Maria Schwab, PASD Assistant Superintendent.
SAFE Summer Academics will provide certified teacher instruction in the areas of math and reading for 65 elementary school students in need of academic support during the summer months. The program will run in concert with PAPA’s full day summer camp housed at the Barkley School. Timothy Wirth, Sr., Exelon Generation’s Communications Specialist, who was instrumental in securing the grant award for PCEF, was also in attendance.
