Climate & Culture Taskforce

The Phoenixville Area School District Climate Taskforce provides leadership, coordination, and direction for the district's Climate and Engagement work. Its purpose is to ensure that every school is working toward a shared vision of creating safe, welcoming, inclusive, and engaging learning environments where every student feels a sense of belonging.

The Climate Taskforce serves as the districtwide leadership team for climate and culture initiatives. Working alongside district leaders, school administrators, staff, students, families, and community members, the taskforce helps guide the implementation of the district's Climate and Engagement Framework while monitoring progress across all schools.

Instead of taking a blanket, one-size-fits-all approach, PASD is leaning into the great work already happening across our schools by tightening up how we collaborate—both at the building level and district-wide. Every school will have a Building Climate Team that brings together active voices and existing efforts to focus on the real, day-to-day needs of their own students and staff. These teams will take a look at their school’s data, figure out top priorities, and champion meaningful climate and culture initiatives right where they matter most.

Building Climate Teams will:

  • Review school-level climate data and stakeholder feedback.
  • Identify building-specific priorities and action steps.
  • Promote student belonging, positive relationships, and school engagement.
  • Lead initiatives that strengthen school climate within their building.
  • Share progress, successes, and challenges with the district Climate Taskforce.

The District Climate Taskforce will bring together representatives from each school to share wins, talk through shared challenges, align our big-picture goals, and spot wider trends. Crucially, the Taskforce is creating real space for families and community partners to jump in and share their take. Their voices are essential if we want to truly understand the student experience and build a culture that reflects the whole PASD community.

As this grows, we'll be inviting families and community groups who want to help us build belonging, stronger relationships, student voice, and a healthy school environment. We want this to be a place where people can listen, share ideas, bring resources to the table, and help us turn talk into real action. More information on how community members and families can join is coming soon!
