Mission


Determine where PASD is in its evolution toward a comprehensive world language program. While focus is on the elementary level, make recommendations aimed at growing a world language program at all grade levels which results in graduating students who are proficient at a second language. 

Resources


• 2 Board Members TBD
• PASD Administration – Superintendent, another staff member TBD
• Up to 20 community members and/or faculty (including WL faculty) who have expertise and/interest
• Research articles
• Visits to school districts with a robust elementary WL program

Desired Outcomes


• Review the past elementary world language program
• Assess where the district currently stands
• Research best practices
• Identify practices which should be considered by the Board
• Recommend steps for Board consideration

Time Frame


By March 15, 2020, report back to full Board on summary findings and thoughts on moving forward.
