The Federal grant program known as “Title 1, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act” (ESEA) is 100% funded by the U.S. government. This program offers financial assistance to local educational agencies and school districts with the purpose of providing improved educational opportunities to students from financially and educationally challenged families. Title 1 programs are designed to help these children meet performance and content standards established by the state for the disciplines of reading, mathematics and language arts.
The school district superintendent designates a Title 1 Coordinator who is charged with the oversight of keeping the program in compliance with Federal guidelines. This coordinator is responsible for keeping parents or guardians informed and involved with their student’s participation and educational progress within the program. Please ask to see
PASD CODE 918 TITLE 1 PARENT/GUARDIAN AND FAMILY ENGAGEMENT for more detailed information.
