Honored Guest Attends Two Graduations 1929 & 2019

From @westend67 Facebook post

On Friday June 7th we were given the honor of escorting Phoenixville High Schools oldest living graduate to the class of 2019 graduation. We introduce you to Ms. Helen Debus from the class of 1929! Ms. Debus graduated 90 years ago from the high school when is was located on Valley Park Rd in Schuylkill Township. At 106 years old Ms. Debus is still as sharp and spry as ever and has a great sense of humor. When our crew arrived to escort her from her place of residence in her extended living home, we found her to have celebrity status as everyone knew exactly who we were there for.

A little twist to this is one of our team members CJ Kronmuller graduated last year with the class of 2018 and when asked if he would like to escort Ms. Debus his response …”I would absolutely be honored!”, and with that… Ms. Debus had a “date” for the evening!

Ms. Debus was able to meet the Valedictorian Mr. Kevin Wang and the Salutatorian Ms. Mary McNamara of the class of 2019 as well as a few dignitaries from the School District.

We are very elated to have been asked to help ensure Ms. Debus attendance to the class of 2019 graduation. We love being in this great community and playing even a small part of making something so significant as this happen!

Our congratulations to the great young men and women of the class of 2019 and we wish them all the best!

A huge thank you to our volunteer team members CJ Kronmuller and Ronald Murr for taking care of Ms. Debus for the evening.

Helen Debus
