Phoenixville Area Community Services (PACS) is our community’s lead resource for food insecurity. If you are in need of food for your household and live in Phoenixville, please call to schedule an appointment for assistance.

St. Peter’s Pantry 
Lunch available every day at noon. Breakfast on Saturdays at 8:30. All are welcome; no sign ups or reservations.

The Pantry is open on Saturday 8-9:30 a.m.

Distribution includes one bag of non-perishables and one bag of fresh items including milks, eggs, bread, fruit and meat if available as well as one breakfast to go. First and last name required, no ID needed. 

 
St. Ann’s Pantry 
The St. Ann’s food pantry will be open on Saturday, May 16, starting at 1 p.m. with curbside pickup available in the parking lot behind the church. Future dates TBD.

Alianzas 
Alianzas de Phoenixville’s mission is to serve the Latino/Hispanic community by providing access to resources, advocacy, and leadership opportunities; and promoting diverse intercultural exchanges to connect all individuals in the broader community. During the pandemic, they are able to assist with linkages to food, rental assistance and mental health resources.

Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer (P-EBT)
All households with a student receiving free lunch will receive an EBT card with funds to helps supplement the cost of groceries for their children. Click to find more information on that program.

If your income has decreased due to the pandemic your household may qualify for free or reduced meals. The application can be completed at any time.

Unemployment Benefits
If you are employed in Pennsylvania and are unable to work because of Coronavirus disease (COVID-19), you may be eligible for Unemployment or Workers' Compensation benefits. Learn more and apply here

 


State Assistance Programs: 
The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) recently announced an Emergency Assistance Program (EAP) for qualifying families who are experiencing financial challenges because of the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. Residents can get more information about DHS assistance programs and apply online. 

Eligibility requirements: 
· household must have children or a pregnant woman 
· someone in the household was working as of March 11, 2020 
· and lost more than 50% of earnings due to COVID-19 
· have resources of less than $1,000 
· household income is below 150% of the Federal Poverty Level. 

Household Size Monthly Income Limit:
The grants are two months of a TANF for the household size (e.g., a household of 3 will receive $806). People receiving TANF or Diversion cannot get this grant.

Applications for the one-time EAP cash grants will be accepted through June 12 or when the program’s funds are exhausted. Residents can apply for the emergency cash assistance.


Childcare for essential workers
Two local associations of the YMCA have opened childcare for essential workers. Please see the information from the Greater Philadelphia YMCA.
